The architect David Martínez, from Minimal Studio, creates a capsule collection of products for the festival
Mallorca Design Day has gone up the catwalk, for the first time in Spain, a parade of design pieces, created by the renowned architect and designer David Martínez Jofre , founder of Minimal Studio. A pioneering bet that decontextualizes what is initially seen on a catwalk, deconstructing a concept to build a new one: a capsule collection of eight chairs invited to parade.
The final gala, which took place tonight at the Ramis Factory, in Inca, and has been hosted by the presenter and model María José Suárez , has put the finishing touch to three days in which Mallorca has established itself on the map of Spanish design. During the night, Cristina Pan and Livia Tilli have been awarded the national interior design award at the IV edition of Mallorca Design Day with their project “Less Homeless”.

Catalonia has won both the national interior design award and the fashion award. Laia Muntal , of Barcelona origin, has been awarded in the national fashion category with the “MUBA” collection , a call to reflection and awareness about consumption within the fashion industry, based on the concepts of local economy and circular, biodegradable materials of national origin; presenting a concept of current, functional and timeless fashion.
Paula Escario from Palma received the award in the Balearic fashion category for her “Cozana nº9” collection, a liberation process that took place on the stage of the Ramis Factory in a fashion show in which clothing has evolved and transformed in a metaphor about mental processes. A reflection linked to the confinement process and in line with this year’s theme of Mallorca Design Day, post-covid creativity.
The fashion category jury, chaired by Modesto Lomba, announced the decision that the national finalist should walk the catwalk for the first time at Mallorca Design Day due to the high level and talent of the participants. The “Bloom” collection, by Jone González, paraded after the opening of the gala, which began with the parade of the “Mujeres del agua” collection by Lis Domínguez, winner of Art Jove 2022.
Chef Ricardo Rossi, from the Hotel Valldemossa & Frédéric Restaurant , has won the award in the recently launched Food Design category . This was announced by the jury, made up of Adrián Quetglas, Michelin star chef, Tiffany Blackman, delegate of the Aubocassa group and Grupo Roda; and Sergio Pereda, from the Club del Catador, collaborator of SER Foodie and member of the Balearic Association of Sommeliers.
The gala ended with a solidarity act together with the Inca Solidaria Foundation. The seamstresses of the Mallorcan city had prepared an exclusive collection for the event with the aim of raising funds that will be allocated to the South Senegal project. After that, the attendees, among whom were recognized faces from the world of interior design, architecture, fashion and Mallorcan society, were invited to enjoy a closing party.
