María Lafuente offered this afternoon “Causalidad”, her new Autumn/Winter 2020-2021 collection at the MBFWM in La Nave Boetticher. The designer has transformed the canvases of the project “Vestir el Prado” that covered the Villanueva building in the bicentennial of the museum into unique garments, bags and accessories. Pieces of retro-futuristic and casual patterns in white, beige, pink, cherry, black and navy colours.

And what did we like the most? Their commitment, once again, to sustainability and social rights. The fabrics are sustainable, produced by Textil Santanderina and certified by PEFC; they ensure decent, equal working and social conditions; reduced water consumption and CO2 emissions; and sustainable forest management.

SIGNUS is also involved and, together with Lafuente, promises to give worn-out tyres a new life in everyday life. The AEG innovation school provides the 3D fabric, Petsilk, which is recycled from PET bottles.

Finally, the collection is also produced by the women of the APRAMP sewing workshops and the profits from a limited edition of bags will go to the Fundación Mensajeros de la Paz del Padre Ángel.

From the team of #mallorcadesignday we support this initiative, a great example that…

Sustainable fashion is possible!
