What has become of our winner of the first edition of #mallorcadesignday? Today we are presenting the firm of eco-sustainable swimwear by Pilar Sarmiento. From a very young age she cultivated a close relationship with art and nature, which is why she opted for the island of Mallorca, with a unique geography as a source of inspiration.
Its most recent collection, SAR ECO SS19, shows us sustainable, modern and innovative proposals, ideal for new good weather. We are fascinated by them!
SAR ECO SS19 Sustainable Eco Swimwear designed in Mallorca @sar.eco_swimwear
SAR ECO aims to manufacture design parts using recycled materials with the same quality, design and technical properties as the best non-recycled products, as well as to make its customers aware that it is not necessary to continue abusing the planet’s natural resources indiscriminately.
With this season’s collection we make our contribution, we have made bikinis and swimsuits from fabrics made of recycled fibers, which come from post-consumer plastic waste collected from the sea. In this way we contribute to the cleaning. Therefore it can be said that the sustainable weaving technology made of ECONYL® regenerated Nylon turns waste problems into fashionable solutions. The material is versatile, extremely resistant, elegant, elastic, soft and breathable: a unique combination of compression and comfort. Thanks to its innovative construction, it is twice as resistant to chlorine and tanning creams and oils as synthetic lycra fabrics.
As far as packaging is concerned, SAR ECO has opted for organic cotton bags and smaller linen bags, while the labelling is made of recycled paper with germinable seeds for planting.
SAR ECO wants to continue enjoying incredible beaches, to be able to dive in a sea full of colorful species, to enjoy the perfume of hot sand, to climb green mountains and to rest under the shade of dense trees, to appreciate the clean sky and to be able to give a good breath of pure air.
