We couldn’t start the week other than telling you how interesting #MOMAD2020 was held from February 6 to 8 at IFEMA. For the most clueless: this is the most important fashion sector tool in southern Europe for presenting new collections, new brand and retail concepts, lifestyle and trends.
We have been conquered this year because the edition has been marked more than ever by sustainable fashion through two pillars. The first is the Sustainable Experience area, which was already there last year, and where fashion brands that respect the rights of workers and the environment in their design, manufacturing and distribution processes are presented. It also had the Green Working space, where the participating companies could interact, as well as offer or demand their needs related to sustainable fashion, and a Green Coffee, where we could find healthy food.
The second pillar was the Green Saturday, the novelty of this edition, which was held throughout the last day and in which there were presentations and round tables focused exclusively on sustainable fashion. For example, the “Incorporation of the Sustainable Fashion Association of Spain into ModaEspaña” was discussed by Marina López, from AMSE and Carmen Torres, from MODAESPAÑA; Ana Belén Muñoz, from INESCOP, spoke about “Implementing sustainability in the footwear sector”; or Paloma García López, from MSMAD, who spoke about “Sustainable Fashion in Madrid and the ODS. Agenda 2030”.
From the team of #mallorcadesignday we want to congratulate and show all our support to both MOMAD and IFEMA for showing once again that a change of mentality is needed within the fashion industry and that we must start to assimilate that sustainable garments are the future.
