Mallorca Design Day was born out of the hand of values such as sustainability, the slow method, circularity, integration and diversity, among others. And in that line we have grown and stepped increasingly stronger, with the aim of aligning ourselves with the 2030 agenda.
Since its inception, our contest has rewarded those designs that take into account sustainability and responsible consumption in their proposals, recycling garments, using materials that respect the planet, respecting marine life and ecosystems.
Culto Brand, handcrafted in Spain
In the face of the fast fashion trend, slow fashion is born as a counterpart, which promotes awareness of the processes and resources needed to manufacture garments. Putting the brakes on consumption, providing garments with higher quality and timelessness, with smaller productions worked locally. More and more brands are joining this wave of change, such as Mango, which has recently launched the sustainable brand “Alter Made”.
Integration and diversity have also been part of Mallorca Design Day from the beginning. The festival stands out for having garments cataloged as curvy, freeing women from the stereotypes of beauty inculcated, and advocating for the diversity of beauty and health.
