Seven chefs from the island will take part in the Food Design exhibition, fusing culinary skills and design

Mallorca Design Day is already warming up. The emerging design festival will be held on March 22, 23 and 24 in Palma and Inca. And it will be Inca precisely the one that will receive the seven chefs who will participate in the category of Food Design, which premieres in the IV edition of the festival as one of the great novelties, due to the firm commitment of the platform to continue advancing and expanding its proposals in the world of design, in which they also reward fashion and interior design.

The participants in the Food Design category are chefs from the island with a great professional career, who will present their proposals on March 24: Tito Verger, chef of the Rosa del Mar restaurant and winner of the TaPalma de Oro in 2022, competed in Madrid Fusion last January; Miquel Serra, chef of El Patio de Glòria, located in the Hotel Glòria Sant Jaume, where he opts for traditional Mallorcan recipes; Ricardo Rossi, chef of the Hotel Valldemossa & Frédéric Restaurant, winner of the II International Cooking Competition with Gamba de Sóller 2022; Marta Rosselló, chef of the restaurant Sal de Cocó and former contestant of Top Chef in 2014.

Chef Kike Erazo, who runs the kitchens of Tasca y Arroces El Puente, has participated in both Madrid Fusion and TaPalma on several occasions, winning the silver medal in the thematic category last year; Cristian Rivera, chef of Tomeu Caldentey Cuiner, who stands out for his commitment to local produce and suggestive cuisine; and Andrés Benítez, chef of the restaurant Botànic de Can Bordoy, one of the international benchmarks of Plant Forward cuisine, a culinary trend in which vegetables become the protagonists of the dish, leaving the vegetables as the protagonists of the dish; and Andrés Benítez, chef of the restaurant Botànic de Can Bordoy, one of the international references of Plant Forward cuisine, a culinary trend in which vegetables become the protagonists of the dish, leaving the protein as an accompaniment.

Tiffany Blackman, delegate of Aubocassa and Roda group; Sergio Pereda, member of the Club del Catador, Balearic Association of Sommeliers and collaborator of SER Foodie; and Adrián Quetglas, Michelin star chef, will be in charge of evaluating the seven proposals exhibited by the chefs under the criteria of creativity, presentation and taste.

The program of the design festival will be announced during the next week. Mallorca Design Day will be held on March 22, 23 and 24 in Palma and Inca, positioning the island of Mallorca as a benchmark for emerging national and Balearic design.
