The Malaga designer Verónica Lagares González has been awarded the National Fashion Award for her Project Synthia collection. This avant-garde proposal explores the integration of artificial intelligence in the field of fashion, with the aim of connecting with the Z generation. Through a dystopian narrative, the collection envisions a future in which the boundaries between humanity and technology are progressively blurred. Fusing a robotic aesthetic with elements of AI and a deeply emotional approach, Project Synthia is distinguished by its innovation and conceptual richness. This prestigious award includes a cash prize of 2,000€.

The Balearic runners-up prizes, worth €600 each for the production of their collections and their presentation on the festival’s catwalk, were awarded to three talented designers:

  • Milla Kaplan González (Palma, originally from Chile), for Fragments, a proposal that pays tribute to Ibizan artist Rafael Tur Costa, reflecting his artistic evolution through textures and colours.
  • Gemma Sintes Pons (Menorca), for her collection Múdate, a proposal with a Kafkaesque essence that explores transformation, adaptation and the birth of a new identity.
  • Aida María Quetglas Colom (Marratxí), for Índigo, a collection that fuses the history of denim as a symbol of female empowerment with the influence of artificial intelligence in fashion.
